The ladder on the back of the trailer makes a quick rack for drying towels and other laundry. But it has very limited space and not the best airflow. A clothesline can be rigged up between two trees or the ladder and a tree. Sometimes, the campsite doesn’t afford that luxury. That’s where the tripod comes in. You are not continually cooking over the fire with a tripod, so there is time for it to have a second job holding a line of laundry off the ground.
Select a sturdy object to tie one end of the clothesline. This might be a tree, sign post, or some point on your trailer. In our case, the roof ladder works well. Tie off one end of the clothesline, the other end is hooked over the tripod and then brought down to the ground and staked. A taut-line hitch is recommended since it will allow the line tension to be adjusted.
