Bath remodel – Phase I, step 2

Backer board in place

Backer board cut to fit and in place

I forgot a step yesterday and I had a delay while I made a trek back to the home improvement store to get some backer board. I realized that I should not put tile down directly on plywood, so I did a little research and found that backer board has improved since I did the front entry. For one thing, it is lighter. I have it all in place, but still need to screw it down. The bonus is that I do not have to work on that sticky floor anymore!

I was also impressed that I was able to cut the hole for the toilet only once. Now it is time to get out the screw gun and put these in place permanently. It is looking better already.
